Haar & Co. Barbershop is an escape from reality, where Art Deco meets the 21st century.
The barbershop was designed by architects, Moschella and Roberts. Branding agency, Redscout, added custom details to the space, reflecting Michael's personal esthetic. Italy’s leading shave brand, Proraso, paired with Haar & Co. to bring its entire shaving & beard care line to the shops services & retail shelves.
A broad range of music is always creating a unique metropolitan atmosphere in the shop that suggests another time & place.

Michael W. Haar
Owner/operator, Michael W. Haar, was born in Queens, NY. As a third generation New Yorker, he performed as a boy in the Metropolitan Opera, fronted various bands as a teenager, and studied music management with a minor in Jazz Guitar. He grew up with a fascination for Vaudeville which inspired his radio shows on EVR & WFMU for nearly a decade. Always an alternative youth, Haar shifted to pursue his other passion beyond music history, the art of Barbering.
Graduating from the American Barber Institute in 2006, this led Michael to train in London & Italy while building a notable clientele in his hometown, NYC.
